Normally put, essential oils are distilled from twigs, wood, leaves, berries, root, bark, citrus peels, flowers or any other plant. Rather than being oily like other oils, they are more watery and non-sticky. Whilst they are natural, they should be applied with care as they are more concentrated.
Things to Consider while using them
- Be careful on applying them if you are pregnant or have any critical health condition.
- Undiluted oil could be dangerous for pets.
- Be sure to know about the contraindications and properties of essential oil you want to use.
- You cannot use most essential oils as neat on your skin. This way, you should dilute them with jojoba, sweet almond, grape seed, sesame etc. Don’t use them directly unless you are not sure that it is safe to use neat.
